Two dates for your diary:
* Sunday 14th May 2.30pm – An Inspector Calls by J B Priestley
* Sunday 2nd July 2.30pm – Jerusalem by Jez Butterworth (the first play reading we ever did several years ago, being reprised during Lafrowda Fortnight).
As usual the set up is informal, you can read a part or just listen and no experience is necessary. Here is a list of characters http://www.sparknotes.com/drama/an-inspector-calls/characters.html
If you plan to attend and if there is a character that you would like to read please let me know in advance. Feel free to add a second choice of character (and you don’t have to stick to your own gender).
In order to start proceedings more smoothly I’d like to allocate parts in advance as much as possible and according to preference if I can. Your part will be for the duration of the play. There will be no more splitting parts between acts as was done previously so I may not be able to give everyone a part every time.
If you need help in deciding which part might suit you we are holding a screening of An Inspector Calls at The Knut on Sunday 7th May 2.30pm. You don’t have to attend in order to take part the following Sunday but we thought it would be fun for those who’d like to get to know the play better. And if you just want to watch the screening, that’s okay too. As usual hot drinks and sweet treats will be available by donation. All events are on a pay what you think it’s worth basis.
Do come back to me with any questions and I look forward to seeing you soon. In the meantime you can keep up to date with Knut events by liking our Facebook page.
The play’s the thing!
