“Come and enjoy our reading of Caryl Churchill’s “funny and provocative” seminal play Top Girls on Sunday 31st May at 3.30pm . Perhaps the most eclectic dinner party has a transvestite Pope, a courtesan-cum-nun, a tireless adventurer, an obedient wife from Chaucer and the leader of a charge into hell from a Bruegel painting sitting around the table. Hosted by Marlene, the newly-promoted manager of the ‘Top Girls’ employment agency, the guests unravel complex questions about a feminism.
We’re looking for readers and audience members. There’s no charge to read or listen, although we welcome donations on a “what you think it’s worth” basis. And we’ll provide hot drinks and sweet goodies, again in return for small donations.
